As part of a holistic approach to care, CHS provides social programs to complement the medical and dental care services patients receive at the heath center.

Food Pantry & WIC Program - CHS operates a Food Pantry program that is available every other Friday from 12-1 pm, and provides food assistance for about 100 families. Emergency food assistance is available Monday through Thursday between 8:30 am – 1pm. For more information, please contact Michelle Henderson at (860)808-8791. CHS also serves as a WIC site, where eligible parents are linked to the program.

Annually CHS sponsors a Thanksgiving Day Food Drive in November and a Toy Drive in December to help spread the joy of the holidays to over 600 families in our area.

CHS also continues to help qualified uninsured patients to apply for Medicaid and HUSKY program services. Referrals are also made to several other programs, such as energy assistance and employment search assistance.

Finally, as part of CHS’ commitment to maintaining a strong community presence, CHS participates in over 20 community health fairs and local events including CHS own Annual Health Fair in September. Through these outreach efforts, CHS touches thousands of lives and increases awareness of the many important services we offer.
