Community Health Services, Inc. is searching for a detail-oriented, self-starting individual for the Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist  to collaborate extensively with billing specialists, providers, nursing staff and other members of the patient care team to improve the quality and completeness of documentation of care.

The successful candidate will:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in nursing or related field

  • 3-5 years’ experience in the fields of quality improvement or Health information management. 

  • Strong knowledge of clinical condition, procedures and basic documentation requirements

  • Strong understanding of ICD-10, DRG and other related classification systems and demonstrated by experience using such systems

  • Strong computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher) and ability to navigate an Electronic Health Record.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology

  • Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) OR Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP)

  • Project facilitation training or commensurate experience.

  • Experience in data management and analysis. Experience/knowledge of all government healthcare reimbursement systems

  • Familiarity with Quality Programs

  • Be able to use Microsoft Office products, including Excel

  • Demonstrate alignment with the organizational mission
