Community Health Services, Inc. is seeking a Security Officer a full time, 40 hours a week, opportunity. This position is located in Hartford, CT. Reporting to the Security Manager, the Security Office is the face of our facility and provides excellent customer service to our patients, employees, and visitors.
The successful candidate will:

Ensures the safety of staff, patients and other visitors and property in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.

Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of people in stressful or sensitive situations.

Works directly with clinical staff and others to diffuse problematic or potentially hostile situations.

Generates a feeling of personal safety and goodwill for staff and patients

Monitors facility to ensure proper safety and security for the flow of staff, patients and visitors.

Monitors traffic and ensures all vehicles are secure while on health center property.

Arranges for transportation services of patients, as needed.

Provide leadership with updates in emergency and/or threatening situations; maintains a listing of emergency contacts, i.e., social service agencies, police and fire department.

Competence in basic computer skills

Strong verbal and communication skills

A belief in and alignment with the CHS mission and values as well has a high degree of cultural competence

The willingness and ability to perform other related duties as assigned, including assuming other duties as directed by the Security Manager and/or the Director of Building Operations and Procurement.
Required Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent, some college preferred

Valid State of Connecticut driver's license

Valid State of Connecticut Guard Certification or the ability to obtain the certification

Strong customer service background
-
Previous experience as Security Officer in a healthcare setting preferred

Other security or public safety experience is a plus, with an emphasis on providing a safe and dignified environment for all in stressful situations.
